Village Tree Lighting 2022
On December 1st, we held our annual Tree lighting ceremony. It was a chilly night but rich with holiday spirit as Residents, Staff and friends gathered in Gibbons Square.
Deacon Thomas Vert of St. Catherine of Siena church stopped by to offer a prayer and blessing for the tree and for all to have a wonderful holiday season. Our very own Tom Ferguson and his band lead us in some carolling to get everyone into the tree lighting mood.
Among the crowd was Frosty the Snowman and Santa, who was handing out candy canes to all the good girls and boys. A treats table was set up in the Chapel, baked by the talented Chef Leo at the St. Elizabeth Retirement Residence. As well for those looking to warm up, Carpe Cakem was serving coffee, hot chocolate and espresso.
Hosts and Masters of Ceremony, Tanya Pirie and Tony Difruscio thanked all for attending and wished all a fun and happy holiday season. They announced the upcoming Holiday Stroll, inviting all Residents, family and friends to take a stroll when open.
As the everyone counted along, 3, 2, 1! The tree and all of Gibbons Square lit up in red, white, green and blue as the music rang in the holidays. We can now say that the holiday season has officially begun at St. Elizabeth Village!
