Getting back into the swing of things!
This month has brought a fair amount of normalcy back into our lives. While all COVID-19 protocols remain firmly in place at St. Elizabeth Village, the provincial reopening has permitted limited outdoor gatherings, allowing our community activities and social opportunities to resume!
Community Corner
Our residents love to participate in an active social life – that’s one of the things that draws them to our community in the first place. This is just a taste of the activities, groups and the continual roster of events within the St. Elizabeth Village community, and the surrounding Hamilton area – seasonal and annual events, holiday celebrations, dances, musical performances, educational talks, and more!
Pickleball
Often played in pairs, pickleball is where badminton meets tennis. It’s a great way to get active and raise the spirit of competition among fellow Villagers!
Senior Aerobics
A combination of low-impact aerobic movements gets the blood flowing and the smiles shining bright! Typically held in the morning, those attending leave the session invigorated to start the day.
Market in the Village
On August 20th, we hosted the first Village Market of 2021. Over 15 vendors offering fresh produce, sausages, sweets, handmade goods, skincare products and more set up shop in our Gibbons Square. The cherry on top was complimentary ice cream and slushies for residents to help cool down on the hot summer day!
Inching closer to move-in time!
We're in the home stretch.
Last week, we hosted our final Upper Mill Pond meeting in Gibbons Square. We invited all Upper Mill Pond purchasers to join us for mimosas and charcuterie before they take occupancy this upcoming October 2021. Project Manager, Gary Zock took the purchasers through construction updates and answered questions about our brand new resort-style community. We’re incredibly excited for the purchasers to finally call St. Elizabeth Village home and join in on all the fun our village has to offer!
What Our Residents Are Saying
“So much to do! Living at St. Elizabeth Village to me is like living in
the country, in the middle of the city.”
— Charles & Evelyn F.
A-to-Z Answers to Your Q's
What is the population of St. Elizabeth Village?
Our community is currently made up of approximately 1000 residents!
What are the benefits of Life Lease Housing?
There are numerous benefits of living in a Life Lease community. The most important benefit is that residents retain the equity in their home or unit – unlike typical ‘retirement’ communities where residents pay a monthly rent with no opportunity to preserve their equity. When the unit is sold, the equity (the appreciated value of the property) belongs to the resident or their estate. In addition, the Life Lease structure ensures residents that the community will remain age-exclusive and focused on mature adults and seniors. Life Lease is more about creating a community of people with shared interests and values than it is about bricks and mortar. Life Lease communities are designed for active adults with similar interests and backgrounds enabling them to fully enjoy their retirement years without the headaches associated with maintaining a single-family home.
