St. Joes Golf Tournament 2022
This September, St. Elizabeth Village was a hole sponsor in this year’s St. Joes Golf Tournament. We are proud to say that it is our 3rd year in a row to participate in this tournament and great cause. Time and time again St. Joes Healthcare continues to provide world class health care to loved ones. St. Joes and St. Elizabeth Village have a great ongoing partnership and we hope to grow that partnership over the years to come.
Here is a message below regarding the fantastic outcome of the tournament:
Our Tee-rrific Golf Tournament Raises More Than $100,000 for the Future of Care!
We are grateful to all of the sponsors, players, volunteers and committee members who were a part of the 5th Annual St. Joe’s Golf Tournament on Sept. 8 at the beautiful Glendale Golf & Country Club. It was an un-FORE-gettable day on the fairways that raised over $100,000 – the highest fundraising figure the tournament has tallied in its recent history!
This year’s sold-out tournament saw 148 players golfing for a great cause. Funds raised from the event will support St. Joe’s innovative robotic surgery program to help patients heal faster, and get home sooner.
Recently, St. Joe’s surgeons were the first in Canada to perform a fully-robotic procedure that is helping patients diagnosed with cancers of the esophagus. Our robotic surgery team is truly changing the landscape of how cancer surgeries are performed, here in Hamilton, and around the world. That’s the kind of innovation funds raised through this tournament helps to drive.
While robotic surgery isn’t yet funded by the province, participation in this year’s tournament will support the specialized instruments needed for each procedure. With an approximate cost of $2,000 per surgery, this means 50 more patients living with cancers of the head, neck, lungs, chest, kidney or prostate will benefit from the healing power of robotic surgery.

A special thanks goes out to this year’s Golf Committee, Peter Cicchi, Scott Galbraith, Dave Lumsden and George McCarter, and the many sponsors who, once again, came together to make this tournament a resounding success. We look forward to seeing you all again for the next tournament in 2023!
