Three partners with decades of experience in brewing and hospitality opened Merit Brewing on James Street North. Founded by music industry veteran Tej Jordan Sandhu, brewer Aaron Spinney (ex-Sawdust City), and chef Jesse Vallins (Maple Leaf Tavern),
their brewery/gastropub facility features an expansive taproom serving 14 rotating offerings brewed in-house by Aaron, a kitchen directed by Jesse that is focused on sausage and beer-friendly bites, a back patio and a retail store with beer available to-go in 500ml bottles and 2L growlers.
